Jogung are giant hominids native to Australia. Physically reminiscent of gorillas, the creatures stand an impressive 7 to 10 feet tall and their bodies are covered in thick dark brown or black hair. They are incapable of human speech and wield clubs – sometimes, tree limbs – as weapons when hunting their prey. Aborigines in 1861, addressing explorers, spoke of huge, monkey-like creatures that killed solitary travellers, while prospectors in 1960 were terrorized by an enormous “gorillas” that locals called Jimbra. The sightings of dark, hairy figures continued into the 1980s.
